Out Reach Program Guidelines
The financial support of workshops or special events for
dancers, teachers or musicians.
The supply of start-up information kits to new teachers, and
non-certificated individuals, of fledgling groups.
The financial support of overseas teachers visiting North
America.
The financial support to teacher candidates, both for the
preliminary and full examination, who are not in residence, and who travel
beyond their home town for instruction and or the examination.
The maximum level of any one grant is $600. This level, and annual budget is established by the TAC executive at the first executive meeting of the season.
The eligibility guidelines for each of these categories are:
Ref. 1. Workshops or special events
The grants are to be given
to assist in offsetting the expenses of TAC teachers, and musicians used
by newer start-up groups who have not had a workshop before, or if the
group is less than 5 years old.
Grants will not be given to
groups who have been in existence for 5 years or more.
Grants will not be given to
groups for more than 3 occurrences of the same type of event except in the case of Youth Activities.
Grants will only be awarded
to groups who have less than 30 members.
Grants will be given to
support outreach events which are aimed at special categories of dancers,
teachers and musicians.

Area youth workshops
Area musicians
workshops
Area teachers
workshops
Other special events
which may be a high financial risk
Ref. 2. Information kits
These kits can be made up of various items such as
RSCDS books
CDs / Tapes
TAC Notes
Dance Indexes
Each kit to be tailored to the teachers needs, but not to exceed the value
of $100.
Ref. 3. Overseas teachers
The grants will be
available to assist in the travel expenses of a tour from any one country
once every two years.
Only one grant will be made
to the tour coordinator per tour
A maximum of 1/3 of the annual outreach budget is to be made available for
this purpose.
Ref. 4. Financial support to teacher
candidates
This is intended for students who are under instruction and who will take
the examination in the year there is an examination tour.
It is not for candidates taking instruction at summer school. They are
already subsidized.
The grants for this purpose will be for travel expenses only. It is not for
accommodation or meals etc. They require pre-approval and will be limited to a
maximum of $150, or 50% of travel expense, which ever is lower, and the distance
must be greater than a 40Km radius from home to class.
Moneys will be paid after the examination has been taken, and supporting
information supplied.
Note:
These Guidelines are exactly that, and all
applications will be considered, and decided upon by the TAC Outreach
Committee. Applications for assistance that are not covered by the Guidelines
may be considered.
The decisions of the Outreach review committee will be reported to the full TAC
Executive.
